Mark your calendars!
Every spring for the past 11 years, Route 78 Rotary Club has hosted a Mariachi Festival at the Center for the Arts—the ONLY Mariachi Festival in North County! This year the festival will be on Sunday afternoon, March 9 at the Center for the Arts in Escondido. The event brings together a diverse audience for a day of traditional Mariachi music and the splendor of Folkloric Dance by Tierra Caliente dancers.
Rotary Clubs are service clubs, so proceeds will benefit various educational and charitable organizations, including youth leadership programs (MANA and Encuentros), food for struggling single-parent families in the North County, The Latino Book & Family Festival, the Thousand Smiles Clinic in Ensenada, a medical clinic in Zimbabwe, polio prevention around the world, and more. We are a Hispanic-affiliated club with a focus on the North County Latino community.
The Route 78 Rotary Club is pleased to welcome back the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea. Since it is their 25th Anniversary, there will be an extra special concert. Local favorite LuMaya will be singing with them again this year to the delight of all ages.
The Mariachi Festival begins with a pre-concert VIP “Tacos & Tequila” event from 12:00–2:30 p.m., complete with a Mexican food lunch buffet, tequila tasting, and a live tequila auction. Tickets range from $25–$50; VIP tickets are $100 and include the concert, which follows at 3:00 in the Concert Hall. For tickets, contact any Rotary member or visit the Box Office.
