The 79th Latino Book & Family Festival, held at MiraCosta College on April 25 together with the STREAM Festival, brought together renowned authors, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and local entertainers for a day of learning and fun.
Amazing books were shared by 24 writers, many of them award-winning authors like Esther Reyes-Jones.
The community had the opportunity to visit 120 booths, including the one by the Carlsbad City Library.

Immigration attorney Geraldine Von Borstel (left) and Dra. Beatriz Villarreal shared important information on Know Your Rights.
Local community clinics like TrueCare offered free checkups and medical supplies.
The mayor of Oceanside, Esther Sanchez, inaugurated the festival and received a plaque of her cover story in North County Informador. Local ballet folklórico groups and singers showed off their exceptional talent and vibrant costumes, and the lowriders shared their vintage autos.
